I want your online session to feel as safe, supportive, and comfortable as possible.

The following guidelines are shared in the spirit of care and in alignment with BCACC ethical standards, including respect for your privacy, informed consent, and emotional wellbeing.

Please take a few moments to review these recommendations before your session.

Creating a Private and Supportive Space

•Please choose a quiet, private, and uninterrupted space where you can speak freely.

•You will need to be alone in the room for the duration of the session.

•Ensure that no one can walk in during our time together. You may wish to place a note on the door to protect your privacy.

•If possible, please do not allow pets in the room, as unexpected interruptions can be distracting.

Physical Comfort and Practical Preparation

•Have Kleenex/tissues and water nearby.

•Make sure you are seated comfortably and can remain so for the full session.

•Secure your phone, tablet, or computer so that you do not need to hold your device during the session.

•Turn off or silence other devices, notifications, and alerts to minimize disruptions. Technology and Confidentiality

•Please use a secure, private internet connection whenever possible rather than public or open Wi‑Fi.

•Take reasonable steps to ensure that your screen and audio cannot be overheard by others.

Consent and Ethical Care

•If you were provided with a consent form for online services, please review and return it prior to our session.

•We will also review the consent together at the beginning of your first online appointment to ensure clarity and answer any questions you may have.
